We’re excited to share that by the end of this week, South Mountain Creamery eggs will be fully back in stock for home delivery as well as our retail locations. As we wrap up this brief transition, you may notice a few temporary changes and we want to keep you in the loop.
To ensure we can meet demand, some carton substitutions may occur. Extra Large eggs may be replaced with Large, and Large may be replaced with Medium.
This short-term shift is part of our regular flock rotation. Every 18 to 20 months, we move our hens to another farm and take the time to deep-clean and sanitize the barn. This creates a healthy, fresh space for a brand-new flock, which has now arrived and is settling in nicely. Flock rotations are an essential part of maintaining our Certified Humane status, which ensures our hens have plenty of room to roam, clean living conditions, and high-quality feed.
