I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe. Over the past 20 years, our South Mountain Creamery dairy farm family has built a pretty unique and extensive local network of growers, producers, and butcher shops. We strive to deliver the highest quality dairy products and local food perfectly on every delivery. During the pandemic, we have reacted to the constant changes and worked hard to make adjustments to provide a key service while preserving our ideals of providing fresh, local, sustainable foods. Handling things from dirt to door, SMC and all of our providers are working around the clock 7 days a week to support our community. This is not about money right now; lord knows we have enough overtime being spent. Right now is about community and trying to make sure you and your neighbors are taken care of.

What we are doing with delivery
We are temporarily asking new South Mountain Home Delivery customers to sign up for our waiting list (just register to join). We’re increasing capacity as quickly as possible and will invite new customers to order as this happens. There are many factors involved in this process which include making sure we have the inventory to fulfill orders, hiring new drivers, adding extra routes, and purchasing new delivery trucks. While we have increased order capacity by more than 50 percent due to COVID-19, we still expect that customer demand will continue to make finding available delivery windows a challenge for the foreseeable future.
We are working around the clock with suppliers to get the items we know customers need. We are currently prioritizing the essentials, however, there continues to be ongoing issues within our supply chain. Please be patient as we experience out of stock items and shortages. In order to serve more customers, we are limiting the purchase quantities of high-demand items.
Is your store open?
With these restrictions in place we will be gradually reopening our store and farm. To discourage group gatherings and congestion, Please note, at this time, calf feeding is still closed to the public between 3:45pm and 4:30pm. We are reviewing ways to open this popular event back up again in an organized and safe manner. We’ll make an announcement as soon as this happens. As always, our customers are the best-we are so grateful for your patience and support. If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected]
Starting June 6th our store will be open on Saturday and Sundays ONLY from 12-6pm.
What Your Visit Will Look Like:
Our store is connected to our production facility and there is the concern that the virus could somehow enter this way. If anyone on our team were to be infected, it would be necessary to shut down our entire operation. This would not only affect our physical farm location, but also our home delivery and wholesale division.
We appreciate everyone’s cooperation as we work to keep everyone safe.
How we are caring for our team
Our top concern is ensuring the health and safety of our employees. We made several process updates—from enhanced cleaning and social distancing measures to new efforts like disinfectant spraying.
We distributed personal protective gear, such as masks for all of our employees and have implemented disinfectant spraying. We are providing hot meals and snacks for employees through the week
I appreciate all of the comments and love shared on our social pages. Several of our team read those comments, and it really makes a big difference. They are working harder than ever before because they are seeing what kind of impact we are making in the community-this makes it all worthwhile.
We will get through this together.
Best of Health,
Don’t miss an update from the farm
