One of our favorite family traditions at South Mountain Creamery is a good old-fashioned Easter Egg Hunt, and we can’t wait to share the fun with you! Grab your Easter baskets, hop on a hayride to the egg hunting grounds, and search for colorful eggs filled with sweet surprises.
Multiple Egg Hunts mean everyone gets a chance to score some treats—no missing out here! Hayrides will run every 30 minutes based on your wristband. Keep your eyes and ears open for when your group is called!
While you’re here, make the most of your farm visit with:
- Crafts
- Bagpipe Demonstration
- Kid-Friendly DJ
- Calf Feeding at 4 p.m. (Enter our raffle for a chance to help!)
- Shopping at Karen’s Kountry Store
Feeling hungry? No need to pack a lunch—our local food truck will be serving up family favorites from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.! It’s a day full of fun, fresh air, and farm memories you won’t forget. We can’t wait to see you there!
Tickets are $10 per person (includes a round-trip hayride + up to 10 plastic eggs filled with special goodies!) Ages 3 and under are free.

Have you ever wanted a behind-the-scenes look at the ice cream making process? Now’s your chance to find out! We’re letting you in on our South Mountain Creamery trade secrets.
Our resident ice cream expert, CEO, and co-owner, Tony Brusco, will be leading you through a blind taste test and sensory evaluation with a curated ice cream flight.
You’ll learn how recipes are created, the importance of pasteurization, and how SMC develops their very own flavors. And of course, have the chance to try exclusive, experimental flavors!
This event will be held at the South Mountain Creamery Ice Cream Shop & Pizza located in Downtown Frederick.
Tickets are $20 per person, and they’ll sell out fast!
June 14, 2025 | 6 to 8 p.m.
Kick off the summer with an evening of fun, music, and dancing at South Mountain Creamery! Whether you’re a seasoned dancer or just learning the steps, this event is perfect for all. Tickets are $15 and include line dancing lessons, a cozy bonfire, and light refreshments.

June 15, July 13, and August 9, 2025 | 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Join us on the farm for a Paint Party! Michelle Ford from Color Me Happy Art Studio will provide step-by-step instructions for painting a canvas that you can bring home as a one-of-a-kind decoration or a special gift. Never picked up a paintbrush? No worries! This event is perfect for first-time painters and more experienced artists alike!
Tickets are $40 per person plus taxes and fees. All supplies and instructions will be provided. Space is limited. Classes will be capped at 50 painters–reserve your seat today!
June 21, July 12, and August 16, 2025 | 10 to 11 a.m.
Goats + Yoga + Ice Cream = Oh My! Led by a Goat for the Soul yoga instructor, this hour-long session is great for all yoga experience levels, and ages 4 and up. Tickets also include a scoop of ice cream and photo time with the goats afterwards.
Please bring a yoga mat or towel that you won’t mind if it gets stepped on (or pooped/tinkled on) by goats. The goats find bags highly entertaining, so we recommend leaving them right outside of the yoga area. Phones and water bottles are okay! Please remember that this event is held with live animals. While they are tame and friendly, there is still a possibility to encounter nibbling, climbing, bleating, urine and feces and a liability waiver must be signed before joining the event.
Summer Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays | 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
Get an exclusive up-close-and-personal experience with our adorable, cuddly Highland cows! Tickets include photo ops, feeding, brushing, and treat time with groups of up to 5 guests.
Every Saturday | 2 to 3 p.m.
We love having the opportunity to share our passion for farming and food with others. When you take a guided tour, you and your group will learn first-hand about farming, the importance of agriculture, and what really happens on the farm each and every day.
Guided tours are offered on select Saturdays. Small and large groups are welcome. Simply register online below. Tickets are $8 per person, and children ages 2 and under are free.
