This year I tried something new and canned blackberries.
Wash the berries and place them in sterilized pint jars.
Pre heat oven to 350 degrees.
In another pan make a simple syrup of 4 parts water to 1 part sugar. Make sure sugar is dissolved and kept at a simmer.
Fill jars to the base of the neck and use sterilized lids and screw on the rings until just tight (do not over tighten).
Place jars in shallow baking pans with one inch of water in the bottom. Place jars into oven and bake for 25 minutes.
Remove from oven and allow to cool and you will hear jars popping as they cool and seal.
These are a new favorite for on top of vanilla ice cream.
