Family-owned farm in Middletown, Maryland adds Corn Maze, Pumpkin Patch, Sunflower Fields and More
Middletown, Md (September 12, 2022) – South Mountain Creamery, a family-owned farm, creamery, home delivery service, and wholesaler located in Middletown, Maryland, announced the grand opening of their new corn maze. The corn maze is expected to open to the public on Saturday, September 24th, 2022. The farm, located at 8305 Bolivar Road, Middletown, MD 21769, has been an agricultural destination for guided farm tours, calf feedings, family-fun events, and more.
“We have always wanted to be able to host a corn maze in the fall,” said South Mountain Creamery co-owner and CEO Tony Brusco. “After several years of planning and preparation, we are finally ready to open the gates!”
Preparation for this new attraction began a month ago, when seeds were first planted on over seven acres of land. The grounds were then thoughtfully tended to for the next several months to ensure that the labyrinth’s intricate design was cut and maintained with careful precision. The corn maze will be open to visitors seven days a week from September 24th through October 31st.
The corn maze will be open to the public:
Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. for $10 per person
Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for $15 per person
Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for $15 per person
Children ages two and under are always free.
A ticket not only grants you entrance to the corn maze but into their brand new sunflower fields and pumpkin patch as well. South Mountain Creamery’s sunflower field is expected to be in full bloom and accessible from August 20th through September 11th, and their sprawling new pumpkin patch will follow the same season and hours as the corn maze.
South Mountain Creamery will also be hosting a 21+ event on Saturday, October 15th from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., which they are aptly naming the Corn Maze Crawl. The farm will be hosting local wineries, breweries, and distilleries for the ultimate corn maze experience, featuring Orchid Cellar Meadery and Winery, Puerto Rico Distillery, Fordham Lee Distillery, and Smoketown Brewing. Each craft beverage producer will be hidden inside the maze offering free samples of their wine, mead, spirits, and beer, with full pours and other beverages available for purchase and enjoyment outside of the maze. This adult-only evening will include live music from Mark & Da Sharks and farm-fresh food from the South Mountain Kitchen Food Truck.
“The Corn Maze Crawl is like our version of an adult swim, but instead of a public pool, it’s a corn maze at the farm,” stated Lauren Harshman, South Mountain Creamery’s destination and marketing manager. “We thought that would be fun for parents and other adults to enjoy as a night out.”
Throughout the fall season, visitors to the farm will also be able to enjoy live music from an array of local musicians. Other attractions include their Nigerian Dwarf goats, calf feedings, a state-of-the-art playground, fun workshops, and shopping for fall-themed baked goods, decor, and more. South Mountain Creamery is becoming the premier destination for all things family-fun this fall.
